Blue Goop Lucid Dream

by on Jun.05, 2014, under Dreams

I had a dream last night that seemed like it came straight out of a science-fiction movie, and it was all the better because I was the main character!

The dream began in a stereotypical lab setting. There was a team of scientists in white lab coats gathered around a metal slab in the center of the room. The scientists were watching intently as a red-haired woman wearing safety goggles dripped a green liquid from a syringe into a petri dish containing a blue gel-like substance. I could immediately tell that the woman was the head scientist and that they were in the process of creating an artificial life-form. After the woman depleted the syringe, the two substances swirled together and formed a new viscous cobalt blue gel. The gel started rolling around in the dish on its own, rebounding off of the sides like a bouncy ball. The woman dropped a small piece of synthetic food into the dish, and the gel immediately reacted, pivoting sharply to face the food. It dashed over to the small green cube and dissolved it instantly. As it did so, the blue creature started to swell in size, growing to almost double its original size. The lead scientist sighed and slowly shook her head in disapproval. I thought exactly what she was thinking – the new creature was far too dangerous. She reached over and picked up the top of the dish and promptly sealed it. As she was walking away, I noticed a small speck of blue on her wrist and my eyes widened in terror, knowing the horror that was about to enfold.

The dream jumped forward an indeterminate amount of time, and I had innumerable visions of giant blue masses dissolving buildings, trees, animals – and people. I watched as the lead scientist was disintegrated, as (sorry, it gets a bit graphic here) her skin, then muscles, then bones melted away. Everywhere I looked there was a slimy, pulsing mass of blue goop, and it seemed to be spreading faster than I could even process. I knew I had to do something, so I gave myself telekinesis and created a targeted black hole, that is a point that pulled towards itself every piece of the goop that I could see. Suddenly, there were millions of blue masses – some as small as droplets, others the size of cars – flying towards the point I had created. The pieces recombined into a towering, jiggling mass of insatiable, insentient terror. It fell to the ground with a loud, wet, smack, and it started racing towards me, the one it knew had ceased its rampage. Before it got to me, I held out my open palm and wished for its destruction. As it was a mere fifty feet from reaching me, it started shrinking inwardly, imploding catastrophically. The dream abruptly ended there.
